Become a PTPL Volunteer!

we love ptpl friendsThe Peters Township Public Library does great things every day—but we can’t do those things without the time and effort provided by our generous volunteers!

We welcome both Adult and Young Adult volunteers for a variety of positions. You will have the opportunity to use your current skills, while at the same time developing new skills and giving back to your community.

Adult Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the library. The Library's volunteer program is currently at capacity and is not accepting new volunteers, but please check this page periodically for new opportunities.

 

Used Book Sale

  • Help with sorting donated materials and refilling our Used Book Sale shelves

Special Events & Fundraising

  • Serve on the Novel November Committee
  • Prepare for special events and programs by purchasing refreshments and supplies
  • Serving refreshments during/after special events and large library programs

Library Volunteer

  • Assist with Home Delivery or Little Free Libraries
  • “Adopt a Shelf”—General shelf reading, straightening, and dusting in the library
  • Garden/Pond Volunteer
Teen Volunteers

Interested in volunteering at the library? The library is now accepting teen volunteers (grades 7 and up). Meet the first Thursday or Saturday of every month to help plan events and prepare for library activities. Find more information at events.ptlibrary.org.

Attendance of at least one monthly VolunTeen meeting is required to serve as a volunteer. Due to this requirement, we do not currently accept court-ordered or mandated community service volunteers.

The library participates in the President’s Volunteer Services Awards program. Volunteers can log in their hours of service online to receive this award.
